4:30 AM – Olympic Games in the Living Room
Yeah, I’m an early bird. Usually, I’m up by 5:30, no alarm needed. But our cat had other plans today. Apparently, 4:00 AM is the perfect time for a morning workout—discipline: the hurdle sprint involving moving furniture.
He’s currently loudly redecorating the living room. Every lap of his attempt to set a new Olympic record is accompanied by a loud meow. And then: crash. He’s knocking things over—after all, they were in his way. No idea what that was, but it sounded expensive.
The dog is annoyed, too. He needs his beauty sleep and has retreated to the couch with me—my place of refuge to find at least a few minutes of peace. But what can you do when the cat has the “zoomies” again? Just ride it out and grab the laptop. Okay, I’m trying to write something right now—but at this hour, it’s likely to stay just an attempt. My fingers are moving in slow motion, and my brain is still trying to map out where the letters actually are on the keyboard.
I’m going to try and close my eyes for another five minutes—but first, I have to go see what just got sent flying across the room.
